"I just started coming back to bodybuilding after slacking off for the past 3 years. I have been trying many routines.

The past recent routine was MAX-OT, I tried for 8 weeks and I felt more like a powerlifter. After I was done with that my muscles were looking very blocky and not much bigger at all... my diet was good with 8 meals a day eating at least 300 grams of protein a day on my 230 pound frame at 6'1", while minimizing my carbs to oats and veggies, with a sugary post protein drink only after workouts.

I then came across this ROB approach and I remember from when I was in college about 5 years ago, I'm 25 now... that I used to do high volume sets but in the rep range of 12 reps or more waiting about 30 secs, with about 15 total sets for one bodypart, I would eat a ton of food but only about 4 meals a day back then. My body responded well but at the same time not good enough because it just seemed like I was staying the same, not improving.

So after quiting MAX-OT and three weeks on the ROB approach, my body is just responding like a machine... Not only does it feel like I am shedding fat, but gaining muscle at the same time... I don't do steriods or PH... just take in protein and glutamine... anyway every workout I break into this intense sweat that I never got before doing MAX-OT... my muscles are getting denser and growing again for the first time in years... everytime I exercise on my back I feel like my lats are expanding and could beat franco columbo on a lat spread contest... that's how intense ROB's workouts push my workload... I am a civil engineer and I have studied the in's and out's of physics, well at least 4 semesters worth, and everything Rob T. talks about makes sense, common sense... I am just happy that this approach is working for me while other methods just end up failing, at least for me.

Now I have to just get my diet down a little better, like figuring out how much carbs I can intake before gaining too much fat... but in about 2 months I will have to post some pictures. Again I use the 5-8 rep range, mostly on the 5-6 rep range with starting off with 60 secs rest for warmups to get some stretching in then bam right into 20 to 30 secs rest... I feel that the lower range is giving me more a workload then a 7-8 rep range would be... I tried the 3-4 rep range and I didn't like it at all... I did about 10 sets on incline bench, then 7 sets on flat, then about 4 sets on flyes... so depending on the muscle group, say legs and back would be a little more. ROB's approach I think could be applied toward everyone if they modified it to suit themselves.

Thanks again Rob for helping bring back my body to life, and taking most of the guess work out."

"I just thought you'd like to know that since I've started your style of training (and joined a gym) I've gained about three pounds and am already seeing some difference in my appearance. I'd been doing what was essentially a Max-OT workout for over three months while working out with dumbbells and barbells at home and having a pretty strict diet plan. In that time I gained about five or six pounds. The really cool thing about starting your approach was that I gained those three pounds in a couple of weeks without being anal-retentive about my diet."

"Here is how I incorporate the ROB Concept into my workouts:

(1) I generally just rest as little as possible (ends up around 20 to 30 seconds) as apposed to fixed intervals.

(2) I'm seeing if I can make progress with minimal attention to my diet. I basically eat clean food when ever I can until I'm comfortably full.

(3) I'm not doing eight sets of one exercise, I'm splitting them up among exercises that work the same muscle in different ways (Instead of eight sets of bench press I do four bench presses followed by four dips).

Overall, I'm already pleased with the results and having a lot more fun working out.

Thank you for making me realize the obvious fact that's so overlooked in the bodybuilding community: more input = more output. Suprise!"

Thanks again.

"HI ROB: i have checked all the info in your site and you kick ass bro!!!

[It] is about time someone has the guts to write the truth. You know that all people wasted all their money in supplements they dont need and books promoting their authors shit. I was one these guys that wasted all my money on shit that i didnt need but now i know and thanks to you i can reinforce my new knowledge.

i will be the more than happy to subscribe to your newsletter. i'd love to see hardcore info on nutrition, training, supplements ---there are few that work and some are convenient for replacing meals.

Rob now i believed that building your best body is simple regarding nutrion and training and the others factors, the people in the industried make things to look complicated just to sell books, magazines and supplements..."

"Rob,

Your insight and webpage have been great resources for bodybuilding in general. Thx for the clarification as well about the post-workout meal in lieu of a shake and the reasoning behind it. The "Glucose Economy" that you wrote is very easy to understand and I will shortly incorporate that plan into my daily weight training once I finish up my sports that I'm involved with...

Again thx!

Sincerely,

Derrek"

"I'M GROWING LIKE A ****ING MAD MAN!!!!!!!!!!

I hope no one at my gym finds out about this routine, that will mean too much competition lol jk

but anyways this routine is unbelievable.

im hitting some of the major muscle groups as much as 4 times per week, with tons of sets and reps and growing fast as hell. I am natural as well and never juiced!

I couldnt imagine someone on juice using this...I feel like you have really helped me tap into the secret of bodybuilding man. Im startin to get some stretch marks now, i havent had them in YEARS!.

Every thing is getting bigger! Im eating tons and tons of food and barely much at all is going to fat. i would say im gaining muscle and fat at a good ratio probably around 2 muscle 1 fat ratio!

Hell its been years since ive put on any muscle following low volume hogwash.

Once people find out about all this and try it I truly think it will make a revolution.

I feel i have better than average genetics but i only grow on a high volume fast pace routine like yours. i think i do more sets than you outline and lighter weights, but i mix it up, but i always do tons of sets! im hittin chest back and sholders 4 times a week, arms 2 times a week and legs once or twice.

i cant thank you enough man for your help!

When i am able to save some money and pay these bills i look foward to subscribing. money is really tight and im eating so damn much now lol and its like everything is turning into muscle! Thanks again and

GOD BLESS!

"Well Rob, I decided to take a measurement of my arms since the new training style.

Since the beginning of this week my biceps have already grown 1/4 of an inch and forearms are up 1/2 an inch. I shit you not, I couldnt believe it when I measured this morning. I have gained 8 lbs, and my caliper measurements are eather the same as before or getting even a little lower.

The workouts have been tough, but seeing results like this just make me want to go back to the gym as soon as I can. Im going to start keeping track of more body parts now and see how everything starts to grow. I really cant wait for more time and workouts pass too see what the progress is goign to be like.

By the way, I was looking at your food section on your webpage and thats awesome that you have my recipe on it, I hope the people who cant stand cottage cheese like it.

Anyways thanks alot, im really pumped about my progress so far, and ill keep you posted.

Ryan

p.s. Looks like youve got some others that agree with me about your training style by looking at your testimonials.

Im really happy for you and hope you do well with the Rob Report. Once I can get some more money coming in to me im sure I will be subscribing.

Have a good one"

"I'm still new to the ROB Concept and am experimenting with exercises and rest periods but so far it seems to be working as I've added mass (whilst cutting) --approx 1kg in the last 2-3 weeks.

It's great to see your forum up and running. I expect it will become a place for quite varied discussion on training approaches.

To be frank, I cannot describe how invigorating it is to workout this way. I am training everyday on a 4 day rolling split which I have never done before. I do Squat on leg day and DL's on back day which means I am hitting big full body lifts 3-4 times week. This means lower weight, but my 60 sec rest period sets are only 15-20% down on the weights I used for Max-OT style low-rep/long-rest type workout."

"I'm sure i've said this before, ill say it again.... your contribution to Bodybuilding.com and bodybuilding/fitness in general is unlike anything i've seen in a long time. to take the time to write out a thorough reply, rather than a sentance is more appreciated than anything.

there are so many young bodybuilders or weightlifters, that DO NOT know what they are doing, and it is comforting to know that there are people like you out there that are willing to help these people make gains, rather than waste there time or even physically hurt themselves.

with your knowledge you could seriously build a great business, if not an EMPIRE. videos, books, magazines, newsletters, over the phone consultations and so on.

you have my support to the very end (if there is an end). I wish the very best in all your endevours.
